Prepare for a Facial / Hydrafacial

Pre-care for Facials & Hydrafacials

48 hours before your appointment

  • Pause exfoliation. Avoid acids, peels, retinol/retinoids, scrubs, and exfoliating tools/devices.

  • Skip facial hair removal. No facial waxing or threading (in the areas being treated).

  • Let us know about semi-permanent treatments. If you have lash extensions, lash lifts, tinting, microbladed brows, or other semi-permanent makeup, these may be affected by cleansing, steam, or products.

  • Avoid shaving on the day (if you shave facial hair), as it can increase sensitivity.

On the day

  • Come with minimal makeup if you can. We can cleanse it off, but arriving fresh-faced helps us start on time.

  • Stay hydrated. Well-hydrated skin responds better.

  • Avoid arriving sunburnt or actively irritated. If your skin feels sore, raw, or unusually reactive, please contact us before your appointment.

Treatment timing

For safety, we can’t carry out facials / Hydrafacials:

  • within 2 weeks of anti-wrinkle injections (e.g. Botox), or

  • within 4 weeks of fillers, chemical peels, or intensive skin procedures, including: microneedling, microblading, facial threads, dermaplaning, laser resurfacing, or laser hair removal.

If you’ve had any of the above, please call us as soon as possible so we can reschedule appropriately.

Prescription or “active” skincare

If you’re using prescription skincare or strong actives (including retinoids), please tell us and we’ll adjust your treatment to keep things comfortable and barrier-friendly.
Please don’t stop prescribed medication without medical advice.

Cold sores & active infections

If you have an active cold sore or any broken skin/infection in the treatment area, we may need to postpone (to protect your skin and your results). If in doubt, contact us before you travel in.

First time with us

If this is your first facial at Pre-, please complete the consultation form linked in your confirmation email at least 6 hours before your appointment. It helps us tailor your facial safely and precisely.
